Willebaldo Rivera, aka Willie, first opened Willie’s Shoe Service in 1956 on Melrose across from Paramount Studios and the Western Costume Company. Thanks in part to the many Hollywood television and motion picture costume designers for whom we created handmade shoes and leather goods, Willie’s quickly made a name for itself. To this day we proudly display pictures of the many movie stars for whom we’ve had the pleasure of custom making fine leather shoes.

In 1982 Willie’s relocated to our current address, 801 Cahuenga Boulevard. Just north of Melrose Boulevard, we’re still conveniently located, but in a much larger space.

From high heels to ice skates, we have the machinery and expertise necessary to rise to any repair or design challenge.

In 2006 a new member was added to this shoemaker’s team. Raul Ojeda is a young man with a passion for the shoemaking trade. In 2007 he was appointed manager of Willie’s. Since the beginning, Raul has brought innovation and enthusiasm to the business of shoes.

Today, the tradition of quality service and custom design lives on.
