When shopping for shoes, the most important considerations are comfort and appearance. As simple as this sounds, it can be a complicated task. Shoe manufacturers cater to a wide variety of feet. Unless yours are of the few truly “average” feet, you’ve probably experienced some disappointment when it comes to fit.

At Willie’s we believe that shoes are the most important part of our wardrobe. Our cordwainers are loyal to the tradition of bespoke shoemaking. The assembly of our shoes takes an average of six to eight weeks. To start, we take a draft of the foot. We identify the actual size of the foot, measuring width, girth, length, instep, and elevation of the arch.

These precise measurements enable us to ultimately select a last that best suits the dimensions of your unique feet. If necessary, a custom last will then be made, or an existing one can be altered. Next, it’s all about choosing the leather and design. Our clients are involved in the creation of their own handmade shoes - from the selection of leather and other materials, to approval of the final design. Once these elements are in place, shoe construction takes about four weeks.

Here at Willie’s there is no limit to the range of styles and designs that can be achieved. Check out the “Show Room” on our site to see pictures of our latest projects.
